An <eon> collage
2008/12/29 by Brislave
I asked our now former members to answer a few nosatlgia based questions about their time in the guild, in order to make "wall of memories". It sounds kinda fruity, I know, but I still felt it would be a cool initiative. Anyway, not all answered, but those that did are listed below with an extra personal note from me :)
The questions were as follows
1. When you first joined
what expections did you have?
2. What are your most memorable moments from your time in
3. Do you regret spending the time we did on farming, progressing or hanging around in shatt?
4. What are you doing now? Still playing at all?
5. Anything else you`d like to sahre? Pictures, jokes etc.
Sinjad:
Sinjad allways had his priorities right, he wanted to become a programmer so sometimes we were one lock short because he focused school, looking back that was probably wise :)
1. I came from Steadfast, where raiding had stopped, and Eon looked like a fun place to be, and I sure wasn't disappointed when I got in.
2. hm.. tough one.. both the Kael Thas, Archimonde and Illidan kills were moments, I will never forget. One thing I never will forget either was Heyhomes keeping in touch through the forum when he was sick and lying in the hospital, now that's commitment.
3. Regret spending time with fabulous people ???? NEVAR.
4. I am gearing up my warrior with BoJ epics, getting ready for prot lvling in WOTLK. I have gotten myself a job making webbased games and so I wont have much time for serious WoW for a while.
5. Joke: "Who died the most?" Answer: "Maya".
Ferina:
What can I say? This guy was probably one of the most liked guys in the guild, allways focused and skillful but also very social, thank you for applying ferina.
1. I came from Enigma where I had been an officer and raidleader over the last 2 years, but as we stopped raiding I started to search for a new guild and Kasumi and Tarazel(Arin) told me
was a good guild with speedy progress I tried my luck when a feral druid spot became open, thank you Apo <3. I got in with green/blue/epic gear, srsly Farris how could you take me in with that gear.. Hehe.. But yeah, I wasnt dissapointed at any point when I were in
, only made me a sad panda when it disbanded.
2. Well there are many, but I really enjoyed the "endbosses" in each place with all the nerd screams.
3."Regret spending time with fabulous people ???? NEVAR." - Well said!
4. Im a bit casual atm playing a bit on my horde priest to get some cash, as im gonna try out Woltk. I moved to Neptulon with my druid and mage but
wasnt like eon and after 1,5 week I stopped playing.
5. Format c: :( But I remember Rúh asking me "Do you need the parry trinket from Zul'Jin, because I would like it" really cracked me up.
Farris:
Our raid leader, our main tank, my roommate, we likes him.
1. Well, when we started eon it was really just about playing with skilled people, and no offense to our first guild here on Anachronos: Klovner i kamp, but they were not. So as to my expectations, i guess they were that we could gather enough people who played the game as we did to sucsessfully raid the 25man instances. That we would actually get to Illidan was far beyond what i thought we would do in The Burning Crusade. Even though Bris put it in our initial recruitment post.
2. I guess Lady Vashj would be my highlight. I don't think i ever put so much effort into planning for an encounter. Balancing the strider and the elemental dps really put my brain to work, so when we killed her that was truly epic. I guess Hydross felt like a similar accomplishment at the time as it was our first somewhat challenging encounter, but it got dwarfed by Vashj.
3. What kind of question is that Bris?!?
4. I just leveled my horde mage Peppah on dragonmaw. It was my main pre-tbc and i've kind of missed it, especially the eazymode levling with frost. And i'm tanking a bit with my tauren warrior which i think will be my main in wotlk. The new talents/mechanics make me feel so overpowered even if my tanking gear is mostly honor/arena gear(including the season 2 shield i used on farris til finally got the MH one) Razz I can finally aoe tank !!!
5.
http://www.eon-guild.org/images/VASHJ_PERFECT.JPG
(not our first killbut still, thats pretty damn good)
And ferina, in hindsight i think i made a good call when recruiting you despite your gear.
Smerte
Most of the officers had played with this guy in vanilla and knew he was a great player. Smerte also held a good bankjob, had a car, a house, a wife and a kid. I have a bike.
1. To check out if playing a rogue on alliance with people I knew was cool.
2. Apart from becoming officer of the guild: last bosses in TK and SSC were both awesome guild first kills, the teamwork and effort behind those two kills in particular. Also just entering MH and BT as a guild was really fun, and not to mention the night we killed four BT bosses in one of our first runs in there.
3. Not one second of it.
4. Playing WAR.
5. Harddisk crash/switched computers, so lost all my screenshots. Maiya often were a nice source of memorable quotes. Cant think of anything in particular though, more because there were too many of them rather than too few. EDIT: Dirtydruid is mentioning one of my alltime favorites in his post below me: when he tanked Nightbane with Salvation Twisted Evil
Dirtydruid
I met this guy in Thousand Needles early in 2005 and have played with him since. Dirtydruid is the master of AFK excuses and one of the more memorable once were when his cat suddenly gave birth to lots of kitties.
1. After having a feel at the "klovner i kamp" team, taking the elites from that and creating a guild... i expected greatness! but what I expected was nothing compared to what eon became!
2.
-Making the eon logo! look at that thing!
-Killing Illidan, yeah as offspecc, but what the hell, that was fun.
-Tanking Telnoicus in the Kael'thas encounter =)
-Meeting everybody from eon.
-Tanking nightbane with salvation =P
3. Nope.
4. Finishing school, then playing wotlk in december =) druid is gonna pwn!
5. Nothing i can think of now.
Ratoon
A great guy and officer with suberb rogue skills. His nursing duties prevented him to play as much as he wanted, but taking care of the needy > epics imo :P
1. Progressing as a player and raiding.. lots of it, turned out I did less than I hoped for ^^
2. Hehe believe it or not.. Void Reaver was one of them, one of the few raids I actually got a first kill ^^
Illidan I guess I will remember for quite some time, last first kill I had with eon and also the boss where farris denied me my glaives Razz
3. Nah I had an awesome time sadly I have to work a lot more than I want to >.<
4. Playing 8 games atm 2 of them on the xbox and getting crit errors whenever I pop on wow so havn't been playing much lately.
5. I feel like I might throw up and I've recently pulled a wisdom tooth hence I'm even less wise now than before.
Maya
The woman in the guild. Maya showed us that girls really can game, I remember her taking charge on ventrillo when our tacticts failed, and hers usually saved the day. She`s the postergirl of female gamers imo :P
1. I applied to eon to get some proper raiding done, had been out of the game for 6 months or so, came back and lelveled maya up... tried some kara with a all swedish guild but got bored of farming kara hence I tried out for a more active raiding guild. Ended up in
after a while and i stayed here. Eon obviously was a place I came to like a lot and tbh I never thought I'd get to se illidan die, but I did so my expectations definatly were succeeded.
2. Where to begin, there are a lot of memorable times but I can't think of them all now tbh but I'll try. Vashj ofc who will ever forget FREEDOM ON FARRIS!! Illidan of course, I guess all endbosses was special. But mostly it's the small silly things that made eon what it was the attitude among the ppl and the fun we had together.
3. Nah I don't do regrets... Sure wow took a lot of time, but time spent with such nice ppl cant be a waste now can it? :)
4. Im not playing anything at the moment uni is taking most of my time and I simply just can't find the time or energy to put into WoW so I'm chillin on the gaming side of life.
5. When Keijan and I soloed RoS!
Karamazov
If i was a girl I would probably have a little crush on this guy. Also he was a nurse so he was truly a healer at heart.
1. Well I joined
as a cheerleader after buggin Tassi for a few days about a social spot. Getting later into a raidlineup as a shadow priest, btw my first shadow spec getting turned down by Tassi - leaving me with the only option of HS'ing and redoing it again^^... Days as sp were fun, but then I had to replace Bris I believe as a healer in MH and well, I never specced back, atleast not fully^^ Being later known as "master of the 3" since I did raids in whatever specc needed ect.
I had envisioned my time in eon as a retriement really, but kinda got court up in it all^^ meeting ppl that pushed and demanded skills (finally!)
2. Learning ZA timed run, with the likes of Ruh dropping out of tanking stands so that he could do exicute on the last boss in an attempt to kill it faster, since the prisoner was dying^^ Downing new bosses, always fun^^ First Illidan for one, with everyone in the raid not fully understanding what was going on - going something like "whats happening? is he dead?" and the likes^^ and ofc beating the crap and frak out of Archimond for the first time, after dying sooo many times... and well any raid/time spend with good ppl and awesome raids^^ (spoken like a true officer^^)
3. REGRETS? ---- OFC NONE!!!
4. Left the server for a ture with a guild called Rising Dreams, did a few raids and got to Muru pre-nerf - joined then some called Aquamarine and killed first swp boss a few times and that was kinda it (they are kicking ass in the nerf now btw) - returned to the server again, and is atm gaming with Badabing (called Silvers now, since he had a cry about locks^^) in a guild we are having a good at.
5. Well it seems Karamazov is a legend, see chatbox:
Ramdee
Ramdee joined when we lost our first enhancement shaman, can`t remember his name now :/, anyway, Ramdee became a great asset to the guild, allways paying attention and playing out his role with greatness. Really liked this guy.
Hey hey!
When I joined eon I came from a very corrupt and rank based guild where everything was decided by the GM and his officers. It didn't work out so the GM desided to take the guild bank and take a hike with his offisers when we where having goes at Illidan. So when I joined eon I was not more than a burned child coming to heaven. eon was like a dream come true to me. The perfect guild. I was very surprised in a possitive way when I found that the GM of eon was some level 1. That really did it for me. eon was a whole new experience in a very plesent way. I didn't have any expections, but I sure got a warm welcome and I still remember how so many people whisperd me and sayd welcome and even had a little conversation with me. And I got the impression that people really care'd. It ment alot to me!
Since I never got to kill a boss first time with you guys. I think my best memorys must be when I got invited. I felt like I had just won a million. I had hit the jackpot.
Oh I dont regret any minute I've spent during the time I was in eon.
Right now Im leveling alts with 3x exp. When happend to me after eon was I decided I wanted to see swp. So I ended up joining a guild called Aether on Kazzak. It was all very spontanious since I knew I didn't have a lot of time since wotlk was around the corner, if I wanted to see KJ down. So when I saw a post about a 4/6 guild needing an acctive enh shaman I hit it. All it tok was a talk with the GM on ventrilo for like 10 min and I transferd.
Here comes the funny part though. It would show that this was the guild where most of my former guildmates from Zeus (the nazi guild with the nazi GM) had gone to. Even though I didn't have the best time in Zeus it was cool to meat them again and I had a somewhat fine time. It was an extreamly stright guild and the GM was throwing "-50 dkp" at us like it was candy. Well anyway. We killed m'uru the last day before nerf. Big day. And we killed KJ just a few days after nerf. Then I had reach'd my goal for tbc and I left. So, the plan was to transfer to Twilights Hammer as soon as KJ would die. But sadly blizzard put a stop to that. I can no longer transfer to TH since its full anf blizz is gay. So now Im just leveling alts to 60 with refear friend. Only mage left and I got every class in 60+. The mage is 43 now. Im not sure what will become of my shaman. Only thing I know for sure is that I will be playing it. I'v been thinking about transfering back to jaedenar where I came from before I came to anachronos. But I dont know...
And for those who cares: M'uru video, crap quality, but it sure was a big day for me:
http://files.filefront.com/Aether+on+Kazzak+vs+Muru/;12077148;/fileinfo.html
EDIT: The KJ movie is there to, but I didn't really put any soul into it since I forgot to start recording before halfway into the fight
Lhomme
A dps machine. Lhomme is a pro fucking warlock. He ended up also being an officer for awhile which we all are tankful for. Lhomme also visited Maya in rl, whatever that means.
1. I came from Shadowsong server, and was used to tank only, i had never raided as warlock before. so i hoped to become just as good a warlock as i was at tanking =) and i believe eon was the perfect place to join.
2. i think that the most memorable thing i did in eon was to try and pull agro off Kejian.
3. i dont regret farming, i love raiding that i then was hanging around shat is my own foult Smile
4. right now im playing on neptulon, killing KJ 1 week before patch Wink so now im lvling a new warrior cus they got some very nice talents. other than that im prepairing myself to move out =) 1/12
5. it was fun playing with you all, and i hope we some day in wotlk might run into each other, dont be a stranger then /Lhomme
Willi
Willi were alot more forgiving and patient than I was, which in retrospect probably was a good thing. :) He was a solid Officer, a guy you could rely on. /wave
Hi all Smile
1. When you first joined
what expections did you have? I was expecting pro raiding... and what did I get? YEAH - in spades!
2. What are your most memorable moments from your time in
When I joined (after an agonising wait on my app) within 10 mins I was in SSC facing Vashj - and this was a mage whose only previous SSC exp was wiping on the big fish. awesome first impression.
Some great first kills - Vashj, Archi, Illidan, RoS, Bloodboil
Having some fun officering - the gnome race, getting everyone busy on SR mats for the bitch in BT
The perfect kill we did on RoS - when all other guilds were dying like flys,
and pre-nerf BT clears in one night - made me so proud of you all - that moment when you step back for a second and see what you just achieved and just say quietly 'fuck yeah!'
Sympathy for Maya in ZA - she is simply jinxed on the last boss
Glasses for Kej - how can you miss a 60 foot tall robot?
The list goes on - piles of happy memories - but most of all, what a great bunch of people Smile
3. Do you regret spending the time we did on farming, progressing or hanging around in shatt? Not a moment of it.
4. What are you doing now? Still playing at all? Playing WotLK on Emerald Dream in a guild called Renaissance with Heyhomes, Holyhell, Greyed and Dreamweever. Now a full raider and got to kill KJ once before WotLK hit - so I'm pleased I got to see all of TBC. Still on my mage (renamed Agnee) and gonna hit lvl 77 today.
Agrona
Beasicly the backbone of the guild, also the best fucking hunter on the server by far. Allways finding ways to push his dps. I feel Agrona was the Gandalf of the guild sort of :)
I kinda forgot about this post as couldn't come up with something to say, or probably too much really. I'll write a small bit as I'm waiting for the servers to come up anyway, hehe.
1. I've allready written about this in another post, but we started out wanting to become a bit more serious than the guild we were in and I have to say we got way past my expectations. I remember seeing a vid of the world first Kael kill with Bris and Farris and saying that we'd never get to see that Wink
2. Most memorable moment is a bit special to me. As a player it was simply seeing Illidan. At the back of my mind when starting out in TBC I had a hope of just getting to see that fight and it all fell into place when we had a buffed raid ready to pull for the first time Smile It dawned on me what we had achieved and that the work we put in had payed of. I had a smile on my face on all the wipes that evening.
As an officer there was a lot of both good and bad moments, but even if not all parts of being an officer has been great, I've learned a lot from it and some of that experience is useful outside playing a computer game.
3. Ofc not Smile
4. Playing my horde mage with some oldtimers from here and there on Skullcrusher. Really enjoying WotLK and the fact that Blizzard has improved on so many things. We're going for 10 man raiding, but I can't see myself getting bored anytime soon. I'm 78 now and going to have a go at frostfire when the realms are back up.
Badabing
His nick is the same as Tony Sopranos strip club, i like. Great lock and great swedish laughter. Hope you`re ok mate.
1. None realy had just lvl up Bada and kara helped me get in to Eon as a cheerleader ( lasted for a week) Very Happy
2. After a few days i was thinking to myself are these guys for real? dose guild like this relay exist on Anachronos? ppl where so nice! old feelings returned to me, wich i hadnt feel since moving from Doomhamer. i was finaly home! Smile
3. People still finds me wired that i like trash mobs Confused so that would be no at farming Razz
4. Im still on Anacrhonos whit karamazov and some other old Eon folks trying to get a raid guild going in wotlk. playing a rogue now lvl 77 atm.
Sania
Sania rerolled to resto druid when we needed a healer. He got full S4 iirc which pretty much sums up his skill level. A great player.
An overdue respond to this post but none the less I finally took a look at this forum again and found this post and thought I'd write something incase someone is still looking here every now and then Smile
1. When you first joined
what expections did you have?
Hmm I must be honest and say I can't really remember when but I do know eon was just finishing SSC and TK when I did (I think atleast Smile) - (just saw my profile says almost a year ago! :O). My expections was that eon would be a more casual and enjoyable guild than my old guild (Rising Dreams where Kara ended up later on I can see). I must say my expections was met and more than just that, I really enjoyed my stay.
2. What are your most memorable moments from your time in
I don't really remember that many moments (my memory sucks in general :p) but I do remember a lot of people which is the core in all good communities. But one of the moments I remember the best is our Illidan kill, that was really something special as I had been so close to killing him earlier and now finally got the chance, it was great.
3. Do you regret spending the time we did on farming, progressing or hanging around in shatt?
Ofcourse not! As it is with many things in life in my opinion, the journey towards the goal is the best part.
4. What are you doing now? Still playing at all?
I've been busy with a lot of different stuff lately. Parties, women, studies and I found a renewed passion for sport. Right now I'm practicing to get in shape for Copenhagen Marathon 2009 which will be in May in the coming year, and I play badminton on a pretty high level Smile
After about 2½ months break from WoW (about when S4 ended) I'm pretty sure I'm going to give Wotlk a go again on my warrior (Elura) on Twillight's Hammer.
That's it from me, I hope you're all having a wonderful time.
Lothena/Sania/Elura
I have decided to add a picture off our legendary last man standing kill of RoS, enjoy:
The end.
2008/09/28 by Brislave
eon as a raiding guild pretty much died like a month ago. Different ambitions, wotlk closing up and PVE -> PVP transfer mayhem all contributed to this I guess. People have gone to different servers and guilds, but no harmed feelings I hope. The cycle of life below.
TBC conquered after one year with our beloved <eon>
2008/06/24 by Brislave
So basicly huge grats to everyone involved, awesome job indeed. Our MOTD reads something like "THIS IS WHY WE RAID", which is pretty much on the spot, this is so cool. Now enjoy abit of summer farming while we prepare for SWP.
And as allways huge thanks to Lhomme for providing the media around here!
